Religious Instruction

A couple of days ago, one of my neighbors asked me for advice on following the right spiritual path in life. I told him about three basic principles: (1) Listen to Christ in your own heart and mind; Christ is God in you. (2) In your own daily life, practice those things that you know are right, that Christ has taught you. (3) Surround yourself with like-minded people on your path through life; live in a positive spiritual community.

Yesterday I decided I needed to write these three things down. As I did I realized that I had recommended to him the three refuges of Buddhism: (1) I take refuge in the Buddha. (2) I take refuge in the Dharma. (3) I take refuge in the Sangha.

I guess I am even more of a non-denominational pastor than I had realized!
